Job summary

Quest Employment is supporting a luxury Hertfordshire resort in recruiting a Shift Engineer to join the maintenance team. You will handle preventative and reactive maintenance across guest areas and back-of-house facilities, ensuring smooth operations.

The role requires experience in hotel maintenance, relevant City & Guilds qualification, and the ability to work a varied shift pattern including weekends. Strong communication and problem-solving are essential for success.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel or luxury hospitality maintenance.
• City & Guilds level or equivalent in mechanical or electrical systems.
• Flexible shift pattern including weekends and nights.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical, electrical, and general building maintenance.
• Liaise with hotel departments to prioritise urgent maintenance requests and tasks.
• Source parts and materials and complete jobs to deadlines.
• Maintain clear communication with department managers to minimise disruption.
