Job summary

PE Global is seeking a CNC Operator for a leading multinational technology provider based in Barrow-in-Furness. This is a 6-month contract with a pay rate of £22ph PAYE.

Key duties include programming, setting and operating Mazak 5-axis lathes (G-code/M-code), interpreting drawings and CAD data, creating and editing CNC programs, and ensuring high quality outputs with proper tool selection and offsets. Visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a CNC Machinist/Programmer, ideally within a precision engineering environment.
• Experience w Mazak machines and intergrex 200-III programming with Mazatrol Fusion 640 and SolidCAM (essential).

Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate CNC machines, Mazak 5-axis Lathes using G-code and M-code controls.
• Operate Manual Lathes and Gate Mill.
• Interpret and work from engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical specifications.
• Create, optimise, and edit CNC programs for efficient machining and minimal downtime.
• Perform precision machining of components to tight tolerances.
• Conduct tool selection, tool setting, and offsets to ensure high quality output.
