Job summary

RTX Corporation in Wolverhampton is seeking an experienced machinist to operate and set up 5-axis machining centres, producing complex aluminium and stainless fabrications for aerospace and related sectors. You will work with engineers to prove out programs and manage tooling to hit drawing tolerances.

You will perform dimensional checks using designated tools, follow program specs, and escalate issues to the Line Manager. There may be a possibility of moving to night shifts.

Qualifications

• Recognized engineering apprenticeship e.g. City & Guilds or BTEC Level 3.
• Good numeracy and literacy levels.
• Good IT skills.
• Experience with 5-axis machines is advantageous.
• Aerospace or Oil & Gas background favourable.

Responsibilities

• Day to day running of 5 axis machine centre (Doosan, Mazak & Matsuura).
• Machining of complex aluminium and stainless fabrications.
• Set up and run programs in accordance with Op sheets and program specs.
• Support tooling to meet drawing tolerances and perform dimensional checks.
• Escalate issues to the Line Manager and maintain CORE housekeeping.
