Job summary

Maxwell Consultancy is partnering with a precision engineering business in Glasgow to recruit an experienced CNC Miller. The role involves setting and operating CNC milling centres across multi-axis cells to deliver high-precision components for aerospace and defence sectors.

Qualifications

• Time-served CNC Machinist or equivalent CNC machining experience.
• Experience setting and operating multi-axis CNC milling machines.
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
• Experience working to tight tolerances within a precision engineering environment.
• Knowledge of Siemens, FANUC and/or Haas controls.
• FANUC controls experience highly advantageous.
• Experience within a subcontract machining environment is desirable.
• Previous experience manufacturing aerospace or defence components beneficial.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Flexible approach to rotating day and night shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Set, operate and adjust CNC milling machines to manufacture precision-engineered components.
• Work on a 5axis Mori Seiki (training provided).
• Interpret and work from complex engineering drawings and technical specifications.
• Manufacture components to tight tolerances and stringent quality standards.
• Work across low, medium and high-volume production runs.
• Operate within various multi-axis machining cells.
• Perform in-process and final inspections of components using measuring equipment.
• Identify and resolve machining and non-conformance issues where required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency and quality.
• Collaborate with colleagues, engineers and production teams to optimise workflow.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment, adhering to health and safety procedures.
• Contribute positively to the company's culture of quality, teamwork and operational excellence.
