Job summary

TCS Consulting in Northumberland, United Kingdom is seeking a highly skilled 5-Axis CNC Operator / Setter / Programmer to program, set and run 5-axis Siemens-controlled machines, ensuring precise tolerances and efficient cycle times.

You will read complex drawings with GD&T, select tooling, edit programs, and perform first-off inspections while maintaining lean manufacturing practices in a fast-paced production environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience programming, setting and operating 5-axis CNC machines.
• Strong knowledge of Siemens control systems (e.g., Sinumerik).
• Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and GD&T.
• Experience with CAM software for complex components in automotive/aerospace.

Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate 5-axis CNC machines with Siemens controls.
• Create and edit machine/ CAM programs and verify with first-off checks.
• Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T to ensure tolerance compliance.
• Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for efficiency and accuracy.
• Set datums/offsets and prove out new programs on the machine.
• Perform in-process inspections and maintain quality records.
• Improve cycle times and machining efficiency; troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain housekeeping and machine care; ensure tight tolerances.
• Work independently with ownership of assigned jobs in a fast-paced shop.
