Job summary

Responsibilities

• Select tooling, fixtures, speeds, and feeds for efficiency and accuracy.
• Set datums/offsets and prove out new programs on the machine.
• Perform in-process inspections and maintain quality records.
• Improve cycle times and machining efficiency; troubleshoot issues.
• Maintain housekeeping and machine care; ensure tight tolerances.
• Work independently with ownership of assigned jobs in a fast-paced shop.

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced 5-Axis CNC Operator / Setter / Programmer to support precision machining operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting, and operating 5-axis CNC machining centres using Siemens controls, ensuring components are produced safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

This is a hands‑on role requiring strong technical capability, problem‑solving skills, and the ability to work independently within a fast‑paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set, and operate 5‑axis CNC machining centres using Siemens controls
• Create and edit programs at the machine and/or via CAM software
• Interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements
• Select appropriate tooling, cutting strategies, speeds, and feeds
• Set datums, offsets, and prove out new programs
• Conduct first‑off inspections and in‑process quality checks
• Optimise cycle times and improve machining efficiency
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and machine care
