Job summary

Gattaca is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist / Machine Shop Engineer to join our Manchester-based manufacturing team. You will set and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis milling machines, producing precision components from engineering drawings and production requirements.

The role involves quality inspection with CMM when required, working to safety standards and continuous improvement initiatives. Flexibility to work shifts and commitment to high standards are essential.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineer or completed engineering apprenticeship.
• Experience setting and operating CNC milling machines.
• Experience with 3, 4 and 5-axis machining centres.
• Strong understanding of machining techniques and GD&T.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Set, prove-out and operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling machines.
• Produce first-off components meeting quality requirements.
• Operate machines efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Prepare and manage tooling, fixtures and production docs.
• Monitor machine performance and perform routine maintenance.
• Identify issues and communicate with teams.
