Job summary

L-ev8 Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist to join a Northamptonshire team. The role involves setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-quality components, reading setup sheets, and programming from Powermill.

Working hours are Monday to Friday, days, with a salary up to £18 per hour plus overtime and benefits. You will machine patterns, moulds, and carbon fibre components, handle tight tolerances, and collaborate with the CNC Manager.

Qualifications

• Proven experience operating CNC machinery.
• Experience with high-precision components and tight tolerances.
• Ability to read and work from technical drawings and setup sheets.
• Experience machining composites or similar materials (advantageous).
• Familiarity with CMS machines and Fanuc controls (desirable).
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Apprenticeship / BTEC or equivalent engineering qualification is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 5-axis CNC machines to produce high-quality components.
• Work from setup sheets and download programmes generated from Powermill.
• Machine patterns, moulds, and trim carbon fibre components.
• Work with a variety of materials and complex parts.
• Ensure all work is completed to tight tolerances and high-quality standards.
• Work efficiently to meet production deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Collaborate with team members and report into the CNC Manager.
