Job summary

Hunter Selection is recruiting a Maintenance Engineer for a Leigh-based manufacturing site. The role focuses on planned and reactive maintenance to maximise OEE, electrical testing and safe isolation, and using CMMS to plan and record maintenance activities.

You will be part of a four-person engineering team, working a 4 on 4 off pattern of days and nights (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am) and contributing to process improvements, safety standards and equipment maintenance including mixers, valves and

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship is required.
• At least three years of hands-on engineering experience after apprenticeship.
• Experience within food manufacturing or food production.
• Electrical or mechanical bias considered.
• Solid understanding of electrical testing, fault-finding and safe working practices.
• Comfortable using CMMS systems; experience with the company's system not required.
• Strong team player in a four-person engineering team.
• Ability to work independently when required.
• Willingness to undertake internal training and continue development as an engineer.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned and reactive maintenance to maximise OEE, reduce downtime and improve machinery performance.
• Carry out electrical testing, fault-finding and safe isolation, with safety paramount at all times.
• Use CMMS systems to record, plan and manage maintenance activity.
• Work collaboratively as part of a four-person engineering team and communicate effectively with production and other key stakeholders.
• Maintain the highest health and safety standards and safe working practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and work with the team to implement them.
• Maintain mixers, valves, reactors and other mechanical equipment.
• Support improvement projects.
