Job summary

Hunter Selection is recruiting a Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer in Leigh on a 4 on 4 off rotating days and nights (7am-7pm / 7pm-7am). The role offers a salary up to £56,000 with a strong benefits package.

You will complete planned and reactive maintenance to maximise OEE, perform electrical testing, fault-finding and safe isolation, and use CMMS to plan maintenance. Join a four‑person engineering team in a food manufacturing environment that values training and career development.

Qualifications

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship.
• At least three years hands-on engineering experience after apprenticeship.
• Experience within food manufacturing or food production.
• Electrical or mechanical bias will be considered.
• Strong knowledge of electrical testing and fault-finding.
• Comfortable using CMMS systems; company system familiarity not required.
• Team player who can also work independently.
• Willingness to undertake internal training and develop as an engineer.

Responsibilities

• Complete planned and reactive maintenance to maximise OEE, reduce downtime and improve machinery performance.
• Carry out electrical testing, fault-finding and safe isolation, with safety paramount at all times.
• Use CMMS systems to record, plan and manage maintenance activity.
• Work collaboratively as part of a four-person engineering team and communicate with production and key stakeholders.
• Maintain the highest health and safety standards and safe working practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement them with the team.
• Maintain mixers, valves, reactors and other mechanical equipment; support improvement projects.
