Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking a HGV Driver - Refuse Vehicle to join the Stakeford Depot, Choppington. This permanent, full-time role covers a 4-day week and involves driving a large refuse and recycling fleet and supporting a small team.

You will operate in-cab tech, ensure vehicle upkeep, and maintain high standards of customer service while keeping streets and communities clean and safe.

Qualifications

• A class 2 HGV licence and experience driving large heavy goods vehicles.
• Confidence driving in urban and rural locations.
• In-cab technology experience is desirable, training provided.
• Hardworking, physically fit and healthy.
• Ability to manoeuvre bins and operate hydraulics.

Responsibilities

• Drive our refuse and recycling fleet and support the team to collect waste to schedule.
• Take responsibility for safe vehicle use, maintenance and allocated tools.
• Oversee refuse collection services and ensure cleanliness and customer service.
