Northumberland County Council is hiring an HGV Driver - Refuse Vehicle to support our Neighbourhood Services in delivering a safe, efficient refuse and recycling service across urban and rural areas. The role operates on a 4-day week, with a focus on high standards of customer service and vehicle safety.

You will drive a large fleet, maintain equipment, supervise a small team of Refuse Collection staff, and ensure routes meet schedules while upholding health and safety requirements.

Formación

• A class 2 HGV licence is required.
• Experience driving large heavy goods vehicles (HGV).
• Ability to operate hydraulic equipment and manoeuvre bins.
• Experience with in-cab technology is desirable but training will be provided.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsabilidades

• Drive our refuse/recycling fleet to collect waste in line with schedules and health and safety standards.
• Take responsibility for vehicle and equipment maintenance and safe operation.
• Supervise a small team of Refuse Collection staff.
• Provide high levels of customer service while keeping streets and communities clean.
