Searchability in Manchester is seeking an experienced SharePoint SME / 3rd Line Technical Specialist to support and upgrade a complex on-premises and Microsoft 365 environment. This hands-on role covers platform administration, upgrade delivery from SharePoint 2019 to Subscription Edition, and high-level 3rd line support within a secure enterprise setting.

• £485 - £500 per day via Umbrella
• Manchester (Full-time on-site)
• Initial contract until February 2027 | 37.5-hour week
• BPSS clearance required

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is seeking an experienced SharePoint SME / 3rd Line Technical Specialist to support and enhance a business-critical SharePoint environment spanning both on-premises and Microsoft 365 platforms. This is a fantastic opportunity for a hands‑on SharePoint specialist to take ownership of platform administration, lead a major SharePoint 2019 to Subscription Edition (SE) upgrade, and provide expert 3rd line support within a secure enterprise environment

THE SHAREPOINT SME / 3RD LINE TECHNICAL SPECIALIST ROLE

You’ll act as the technical authority for the organisation’s SharePoint estate, providing expert platform support whilst driving platform upgrades, optimisation and future development. Working as the escalation point for complex technical issues, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the performance, reliability and security of the SharePoint environment.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing SharePoint farm servers, web applications and content databases
• Administering SharePoint service applications
• Providing expert 3rd Line support for complex SharePoint issues
• Leading the migration from SharePoint Server 2019 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE)
• Managing and supporting SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365
• Optimising SharePoint Search architecture including crawling, indexing and query performance
• Ensuring platform security, performance and availability
• Supporting search-driven applications and user interfaces
• Working closely with technical teams to continually improve the SharePoint environment

WE NEED YOU TO HAVE...

• Strong commercial experience supporting SharePoint Server 2019
• Experience with SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) or SharePoint upgrade projects
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365)
• Extensive experience administering SharePoint farm architecture
• Strong understanding of SharePoint Search, Crawl configuration, Indexing, Query processing, and Search optimisation
• Experience providing 3rd Line technical support
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently within a secure enterprise environment
