Job summary

CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking a 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer / SharePoint SME to operate onsite in Manchester. The role focuses on supporting and evolving a complex SharePoint estate across on-premises and Microsoft 365, with emphasis on administration, troubleshooting and upgrades.

You will act as the escalation point for complex SharePoint issues and lead upgrades from 2019 to Subscription Edition, while maintaining SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365.

Qualifications

• Experience with SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE).
• Strong experience supporting SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365.

3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer - Sharepoint SME

Onsite in Manchester (7am-7pm shift coverage within a secure room environment)

490 per day inside ir35

6 months contract

We are looking for an experienced 3rd Line Infrastructure Engineer / SharePoint SME to join a large-scale enterprise environment in Manchester.

This is a hands‑on technical role supporting and evolving a complex SharePoint estate across on-premises and Microsoft 365, with a particular focus on SharePoint administration, troubleshooting and platform upgrades.

The Role

You will act as a 3rd line technical escalation point, resolving complex SharePoint issues while supporting the ongoing development, performance and reliability of the platform.

A key part of the role will be supporting and leading SharePoint 2019 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) upgrades, alongside the administration and support of SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365.

Key Responsibilities

Essential Experience

• Strong hands‑on experience with SharePoint Server 2019
• Experience with SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE)
• Strong experience supporting SharePoint Online / Microsoft 365
• Proven 3rd line infrastructure / technical support experience
• Experience with SharePoint upgrades, migrations and administration
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Desirable

Experience across the wider Microsoft technology stack would be advantageous, including:

• Microsoft 365
• OneDrive
• Microsoft Teams
• Exchange Online
• Power Automate
• Power Apps
• Microsoft Copilot / AI capabilities
• SharePoint development and automation

Relevant Microsoft certifications such as MS-102, AZ-204, PL-400 or AI-900 would also be beneficial.
