Job summary

Searchability is seeking a SharePoint SME / 3rd Line Technical Specialist for an on-site, full-time role in Manchester. The contract runs until March 2027 and requires BPSS clearance, with a 37.5-hour week and daily rate of £485–£500.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial experience supporting SharePoint Server 2019.
• Experience with SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE) or SharePoint upgrade projects.
• Strong knowledge of SharePoint Online (Microsoft 365).
• Extensive experience administering SharePoint farm architecture.
• Strong understanding of SharePoint Search, Crawl configuration, Indexing, Query processing, and Search optimisation.
• Experience providing 3rd Line technical support.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently within a secure enterprise environment.

Responsibilities

• Managing SharePoint farm servers, web applications and content databases.
• Administering SharePoint service applications.
• Providing expert 3rd Line support for complex SharePoint issues.
• Leading the migration from SharePoint Server 2019 to SharePoint Subscription Edition (SE).
• Managing and supporting SharePoint Online within Microsoft 365.
• Optimising SharePoint Search architecture including crawling, indexing and query performance.
• Ensuring platform security, performance and availability.
• Supporting search-driven applications and user interfaces.
• Working closely with technical teams to continually improve the SharePoint environment.
