Job Description

• Responsible for servers and their replacements, ensuring they operate correctly, faults are resolved within KPIs, and planned maintenance is conducted without impacting operations.
• Manage virtualisation hypervisors (Microsoft HyperV and VMware ESXi), ensuring proper functioning, fault resolution, and security updates without operational impact.
• Oversee the SANNAS system to ensure proper operation, fault resolution within KPIs, and maintenance without disruptions.
• Monitor server infrastructure performance, identify trends and potential issues, and report findings and solutions to the Head of IT Support.
• Maintain and update Windows servers (2016-2022) and various Linux servers, planning and executing replacements to keep systems supported.
• Use college systems to verify availability and user details.
• Configure accounts and other IT systems for end users.
• Assist the IT team with 2nd and 3rd line support as needed.
• Collaborate with the Head of IT Support to plan, document, and test Disaster Recovery procedures, keeping documentation current.

The Successful Applicant

• Experience with VEEAM backup and replication suite.
• Knowledge of Windows Server 2016 or above.
• Proficiency with Active Directory.
• Experience configuring SANNAS devices.
• Knowledge of iSCSI.
• Experience with enterprise backup solutions.
• Ability to install, configure, and use performance monitoring tools.
• Experience maintaining and fault-finding Windows 2016 servers and above in virtual environments.
• Understanding of DNS, DHCP, and Radius within Windows.
