Job summary

Nigel Frank International is partnering with a large UK organisation to recruit an ICT Infrastructure Operations Engineer for a 3rd Line & Automation role in Hoddesdon. You will blend hands-on infrastructure support with automation to improve a Microsoft-based environment, spanning Azure and on‑premises components.

You’ll own tasks end-to-end, troubleshoot complex issues, write PowerShell scripts, and help deploy, patch and monitor the estate.

Qualifications

• Strong Microsoft infrastructure background with hands-on PowerShell experience and automation interest.
• Experience across some of the following would be beneficial: PowerShell, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, Active Directory, Power Automate, Graph API, Python, Bash, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD/DevOps, Virtualisation and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Providing 3rd Line infrastructure support across cloud and on‑premise environments
• Troubleshooting complex technical issues and identifying root causes
• Working across Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365 and Windows Server
• Managing and supporting Active Directory and Microsoft Entra ID
• Supporting endpoint management through Microsoft Intune
• Using PowerShell to automate repetitive infrastructure and administrative tasks
• Identifying processes that could be improved through automation
• Using Power Automate and wider Microsoft technologies to improve internal processes
• Supporting infrastructure maintenance, upgrades, patching and deployments
• Contributing to infrastructure projects and technical implementations
• Working with stakeholders and other IT teams to deliver technical improvements
• Creating and maintaining technical documentation
