Job summary

Norse Contracts Ltd is seeking an experienced Machine Driver (Plant Operator) to join our Potters Bar site on a year-long project with Saturday shifts. You will operate excavators, dumpers, rollers and other plant equipment to support excavation, loading and movement of materials.

A strong safety focus and ability to work with groundworkers is essential. Applicants must hold CSCS and CPCS/NPORS tickets, have proven site experience, understand traffic management, and be willing to travel to

Qualifications

• CSCS card required.
• Valid CPCS/NPORS tickets for relevant plant.
• Proven experience operating construction plant on similar sites.
• Good understanding of site safety and traffic management procedures.

Responsibilities

• Operate excavators, dumpers, rollers and other plant machinery safely and efficiently.
• Carry out excavation, digging and levelling works to specification.
• Load and move materials around site (spoil, aggregate, stone).
• Work closely with groundworkers and pipe layers to support ongoing works.
• Carry out daily pre-use checks and basic maintenance on machinery.
• Report faults or defects with plant to site management.
• Work to levels and instructions from the setting out engineer.
• Ensure safe operation of plant around other site operatives and the public.
• Comply with site traffic management and banksman procedures.
• Keep machinery clean, tidy and secure when not in use.

Job Description

Norse Contracts are looking for experienced Machine Driver (Plant Operator)s to join us on a year-long project, working Saturdays, at our site in Potters Bar. We welcome applications from local operatives and those travelling from further afield.

Duties will include:

• Operating excavators, dumpers, rollers and other plant machinery safely and efficiently
• Carrying out excavation, digging and levelling works to specification
• Loading and moving materials (spoil, aggregate, stone) around site
• Working closely with groundworkers and pipe layers to support ongoing works
• Carrying out daily pre-use checks and basic maintenance on machinery
• Reporting any faults, damage or defects with plant to site management
• Working accurately to levels and instructions provided by the setting out engineer
• Ensuring safe operation of plant around other site operatives and the public
• Complying with all site traffic management and banksman procedures
• Keeping machinery clean, tidy and secure when not in use

Requirements:
