JOB DESCRIPTION:

About Abbott Toxicology

The Opportunity

As a Collecting Officer, you will join a flexible and motivated regional team, trained to collect legally defensible samples in methods such as urine, breath, hair, and oral fluid at customer locations. Collecting Officers are customer-focused and must follow our chain of custody process at all collections.

Locations:

• Bristol
• Croydon
• Hounslow
• Maidstone
• Isle of Wight

What You’ll Do

1. Conduct specimen collections competently, following procedures and customer requirements to deliver quality service.
2. Provide availability for collections during day, evenings, weekends, and public holidays as needed.
3. Participate in a 24-hour on-call rota, responding immediately to calls and arriving on site within 2 hours.
4. Stay current with processes by reading, acknowledging updates, and attending audits.
5. Perform other duties as directed by management.

Required Qualifications

• Educated to National Standards.
• Good verbal, written, and communication skills.
• IT literate with basic skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Self-motivated with a flexible approach to work.
• Ability to follow set processes to ensure correct outcomes.
• Driving license and own vehicle.
