Job summary

Booker Group plc in Eastbourne is recruiting a local delivery driver. You will drive 45 hours per week on a flexible “Any 5 from 7” roster, delivering to regular customers and maintaining service levels. You will load at the branch, unload at customer sites, and complete delivery paperwork accurately.

Previous delivery driving experience is preferred; Cat B licence required. The role offers a comprehensive benefits package and opportunities for progression within Booker Wholesale.

Qualifications

• Experience driving locally and delivering to business customers.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Able to read/write and perform basic paperwork accurately.
• Able to carry out manual deliveries and load/unload goods.
• Two years driving experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load stock into the vehicle at the branch and unload at customer premises.
• Ensure paperwork is completed accurately for deliveries.
• Maintain good relationships with regular customers.

Do you want more local driving and be a valued member of a delivery team? This may be the role for you. Working45 hours per week you will enjoy a varied role driving locally as well as building relationships with our regular customers.

Our drivers are the beating heart of our business and you will play a vital role in ensuring customers receive their deliveries on time and with a great service.

Working on an “Any 5 from 7” contract, our shift patterns will include some weekend working.

You will be responsible for

Making sure our customers are able to keep their shelves full with the products needed by their customers. You’ll be loading stock in to the vehicle at the Branch and unloading at the customer premises. You’ll also need to ensure the paperwork is completed accurately.

You will need

Cat B / 3.5T Licence

Previous experience of driving (at least two years)

Previous experience of delivery driving is preferred

Ability to carry out manual deliveries

Excellent interpersonal skills with a positive customer service attitude

Good level of literacy and numeracy
