Job summary

HartleyCo is seeking a 2nd Line Technical Support Engineer to join their IT team in Nuneaton on a 6 month contract, outside IR35. You will handle BAU support across a Microsoft environment, taking escalations from the service desk to keep users and systems running smoothly.

The role requires hands-on Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, Active Directory and Exchange Online expertise, with on-site work five days a week in Nuneaton.

Qualifications

• 2nd line IT support experience required.
• Strong Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 admin skills.
• Hands-on Active Directory and Group Policy experience.
• Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) and Exchange Online.
• Good troubleshooting and independent worker with clear communication.

Responsibilities

• Resolve escalated 2nd line tickets for hardware, software, access and connectivity.
• Support Windows and Microsoft 365 users.
• Manage Exchange Online mailboxes and distribution lists.
• Deploy and support devices/apps via Intune or Endpoint Manager.
• Carry out patching, monitoring and system checks.
• Troubleshoot network, printer, VPN and remote access issues.
• Keep clear ticket notes and update documentation.
• Escalate to 3rd line or vendors when needed with detail.

2nd Line Technical Support Engineer (6 Month Contract, Outside IR35)

Our client is looking for a 2nd Line Support Engineer to join their IT team in Nuneaton on a 6 month contract. You will provide BAU support across a Microsoft environment, picking up escalations from the service desk and making sure users and systems stay up and running.

Responsibilities

• Resolve escalated 2nd line tickets covering hardware, software, access and connectivity issues
• Support Windows and Microsoft 365 users.
• Manage Exchange Online mailboxes, distribution lists and shared mailboxes
• Deploy and support devices and applications through Intune or Endpoint Manager
• Carry out routine patching, monitoring and system checks
• Troubleshoot network, printer, VPN and remote access issues
• Keep clear ticket notes and update documentation as you go
• Escalate to 3rd line or vendors where needed, with the right detail

Requirements

• Proven experience in a 2nd Line Support or IT Support Engineer role
• Solid knowledge of Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 administration
• Hands-on experience with Active Directory and Group Policy
• Experience with Entra ID (Azure AD) and Exchange Online
• Good troubleshooting skills and the ability to work through issues independently
• Clear communication and a good customer-facing manner
• Happy to work on site in Nuneaton five days a week
