Job summary

Randox Health in London is seeking a Phlebotomist to join our St Johns Wood clinic. You will collect blood samples from private and corporate clients, manage data in our Patient Information Systems, and help maintain excellent customer experience.

The role requires flexible shifts, Hepatitis B vaccination, enhanced DBS clearance, and a 12-month right-to-work in the UK, with a full-time permanent contract and rota across Hampstead and St Johns Wood.

Qualifications

Phlebotomist – St Johns Wood – (Job Ref: 26/STWO)

Randox Health continues to be at the forefront of clinical diagnostics, dedicated to improving health worldwide with our disruptive technology and innovative diagnostic solutions. We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Phlebotomist within our clinic in St Johns Wood, London.

Main Location

76 St John's Wood High St, London, NW8 7SH. Successful applicants will work within a dynamic rota model. This means that while rotas will be provided in advance, scheduled shifts may be across different clinic locations within the relevant cluster area, depending on customer demand and operational requirements. This role will cover the following Randox Health Clinics Hampstead and St Johns Wood.

Contract Offered

Full-time, permanent

Working Hours / Shifts

Alternating weekly between a Monday to Friday and Tuesday to Saturday shift pattern. Start and finish times are either 7.40am to 4.20pm or 6.40am to 3.20pm. Some flexibility will also be required including Sundays.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Right to Work Requirement

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered.

What does the Phlebotomist role involve?

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. The main duties of the role include:

  • Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
  • Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
  • Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
  • Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
  • Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
  • Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
  • Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
  • Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
  • Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.
Essential criteria:
  • Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
  • Confident using IT programmes.
  • Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
  • Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.
Desirable:
  • Experience in a private healthcare setting.
  • Experience in customer service.
  • 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
  • Sales / Retail experience.
