Job summary

Randox Health is seeking a Phlebotomist for our clinic located in John Lewis, Reading. The role involves taking blood samples from private and corporate clients, data entry into our Patient Information Systems, and providing excellent customer service in a busy health clinic.

The position is full-time, permanent with some evenings and weekends. Right to work in the UK is required, and Hepatitis B vaccination may be necessary. DBS check will be required.

Phlebotomist – Reading – (Job Ref: 26/PBRR)

Our staff are at the heart of everything we do and achieve. We have an exciting new career opportunity for a Phlebotomist within our clinic in the John Lewis store in Reading.

Location: John Lewis, Broad St, Reading RG1 2BB.

Contract Offered: Full-time, permanent. We can also consider part time hours.

Working Hours / Shifts: 40 hours per week, including some evenings and weekends.

For this position, as you may be in contact with live blood samples, you must be vaccinated against Hepatitis B or be able to get it following a successful interview stage.

In line with Care Quality Commission guidelines, the successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.

Right to Work Requirement

Please note that this role requires candidates to have the legal right to work in the UK for a minimum of 12 months from the application date. This is to ensure completion of our 9-month probationary period and for any potential sponsorship decisions to be considered. Unfortunately, we are unable to offer visa sponsorship at the point of hire.

This role is responsible for ensuring customers have an excellent experience from the moment they enter our clinic, taking blood samples from both private and corporate clients. This is a varied role that may also include the following responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive client appointments, including blood and urine sample collection, personal health measurements, and data entry into our Patient Information Systems (PIS).
• Demonstrate sensitive communication to ensure client understanding and consent.
• Maintain accurate records in PIS, uploading all relevant documentation.
• Represent the company professionally at offsite events and appointments.
• Engage in upselling and cross-selling at our private health clinic.
• Proactively drive sales and exceed targets.
• Help with reception, front of house and other administrative duties.
• Complete company forms, specimen labelling, and laboratory test order forms accurately.
• Demonstrate high IT literacy in order to manager various software systems and daily tasks.

Essential criteria:

• Previous experience in a healthcare or customer service environment.
• Confident using IT programmes.
• Flexibility with working hours, as required by the business inclusive of evenings and weekends.
• Flexibility to work from offsite locations at least once per month.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Currently have the right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Desirable:

• Previous Phlebotomy experience and certificate or equivalent training.
• Experience in a private healthcare setting.
• Experience in customer service.
• 6 months experience in Phlebotomy.
• Sales / Retail experience.
• Valid UK driving licence.
