Job summary

Thames Water in Reading is seeking a Technical Resource Coordinator to join our 24/7 Waste Operational Control Centre. You will coordinate responses to operational issues, support field teams, and help prevent pollution, flooding, and Health & Safety incidents.

The role is a 6-month secondment with hybrid working (10 days in the office, 4 days from home) and day/night 24/7 shifts. You’ll prioritise tasks and ensure timely progression of high-priority work.

Qualifications

An understanding of the water or wastewater industry.
Experience using Click and Workforce Management systems.
Customer service, planning or scheduling experience.
Experience allocating SCADA alarms.
Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how customer outcomes can have financial implications.
Experience managing challenging customer cases or complaints.
Confidence working with complex information and using it to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

Coordinating responses to reports of above-ground asset failures and escalating issues when needed.
Managing real-time scheduling, including out-of-hours reactive work.
Supporting first responders dealing with pollution and compliance incidents.
Making sure high-priority jobs are progressed within the required timescales.
Completing live scenario checks before confined-space sewer entries to help ensure work can be carried out safely.
Working closely with our Field and Site Managers to resolve operational issues and support customers.
