Job summary

Thames Water is seeking a Technical Resource Coordinator for its Waste Operational Control Centre in Reading. The role supports 24/7 operations, coordinating responses to incidents, scheduling work, and assisting field teams to prevent pollution and safety incidents.

The position is a 6-month secondment with hybrid working (10 days in the office, 4 from home). You’ll collaborate with Site Managers to resolve issues and ensure timely progress on high-priority jobs.

Qualifications

• An understanding of the water or wastewater industry.
• Experience using Click and Workforce Management systems.
• Customer service, planning or scheduling experience.
• Experience allocating SCADA alarms.
• Good commercial awareness and an understanding of how customer outcomes can have financial implications.
• Experience managing challenging customer cases or complaints.
• Confidence working with complex information and using it to make informed decisions.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating responses to reports of above-ground asset failures and escalating issues when needed.
• Managing real-time scheduling, including out-of-hours reactive work.
• Supporting first responders dealing with pollution and compliance incidents.
• Making sure high-priority jobs are progressed within the required timescales.
• Completing live scenario checks before confined-space sewer entries to help ensure work can be carried out safely.
• Working closely with our Field and Site Managers to resolve operational issues and support customers.
