Job summary

Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Patient Flow Duty Manager to provide clinical leadership and ensure smooth patient movement across inpatient wards and community teams. You will drive out-of-hours responses and work with services to optimise bed use.

The role requires strategic oversight, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and robust risk and performance management to improve patient throughput and care outcomes.

Qualifications

• Professional qualification in Mental Health Nursing or Occupational Therapy at Diploma or Degree level.
• Current UK professional registration is essential.
• Evidence of post qualification study and personal development desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership to coordinate patient flow across the bed base and out-of-hours management.
• Collaborate with partners to manage bed capacity and enable discharge planning.
• Oversee patient reviews, MDTs and governance meetings with clinical teams.
• Ensure safe patient flow and escalation of capacity issues when needed.
