Job summary

Jane Street in London seeks an experienced Technical Operations Engineer to join our highly technical team responsible for operating and managing core infrastructure within our trading floors and support spaces. You will be hands-on with system operations, maintenance, commissioning and optimisation to ensure 24/7 reliability.

You will work on building services, electrical and mechanical systems, and collaborate across teams in a fast-paced IT-centric trading environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in mission-critical facility operations.
• Proficient in building services, including plant infrastructure, HVAC, CRACs, UPSs, generators, fire prevention systems and building management systems.
• Strong technical aptitude with computer systems and willingness to learn new software and control platforms in an IT-centric environment.
• Skilled in reviewing construction documents, testing/commissioning scripts and RAMs for critical scopes of work.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot field issues independently and manage operational risks.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to explain complex technical issues clearly.
• Comfortable working with technical and non-technical colleagues across departments.
• Ability to prioritise tasks in evolving environments.

• Ensure mission-critical systems meet the demanding requirements of a high-performance trading environment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives while maintaining the highest standards of operational excellence.
• Lead diverse projects from planned maintenance to system upgrades and emergency responses.
• Implement innovative solutions and optimise building automation systems.
• Manage relationships with external vendors, contractors, and consultants.
• Be part of an on-call rotation for nights and weekends to respond to critical emergencies.
