Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a dedicated security officer to join our Estates and Facilities team on a 4-week rolling pattern, covering Wonford, Heavitree and Mardon House. You will respond to incidents, support clinical teams, and uphold a safe environment across hospital sites.

You will work day and night shifts with enhancements; applicants must have a full UK driving licence and the ability to work with empathy and professionalism.

Qualifications

• Experience in security sector is essential.
• Full UK driving licence required (manual/automatic).
• Ability to obtain right to work in the UK without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Respond to incidents involving theft, assault, anti-social behaviour and other security concerns.
• Support clinical teams with patients experiencing confusion, delirium or post-operative delirium.
• Interact with patients with empathy, professionalism and care.
• Use de-escalation techniques as a first approach, backed by physical intervention training.
• Write accurate incident reports and statements for investigations or police involvement.
• Monitor CCTV and support the Trust’s car parking team as required.
