Job summary

Tunstall Healthcare (UK) is seeking an Emergency Helpline Operator to join our Response team in Goole. You will speak with service users, assess calls, and arrange the most suitable follow up, including contacting emergency services when needed.

The role requires empathy, clear communication, and a calm, reassuring telephone manner. The position offers a 4-on/4-off shift pattern (7pm–7am), 40.25 hours per week, and a competitive package with extensive benefits.

• Confident IT user capable of learning new systems.

Responsibilities

• Speak to service users to help with a wide range of enquiries and provide reassurance.
• Assess each call and select the most appropriate follow up procedure.
• Clearly and concisely pass information to emergency services or personal contacts where required.
• Maintain the Response Centre database with high data integrity and confidentiality.
• Respond to calls effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure service users receive reassurance, comfort and help over the phone.
• Handle housing repair calls and coordinate appropriate contractors.
• Carry out outbound calls to comfort and reassure vulnerable end users.
