Job summary

CBRE in Croydon Data Centre seeks an M&E Shift Technician to join the 24/7 operations. You will carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown tasks on mechanical and electrical plant, including UPS, Generators, HV systems and CRAC units, ensuring uptime and safe operations.

The role requires HV qualification, experience in critical environments, and the ability to work shifts, cover colleagues, and maintain accurate logs and regulations adherence.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds qualification in mechanical/electrical/refrigeration building services.
• Experience in data centre or critical environments.
• HV authorised or a valid HV Authorised Person.
• BS7671 2018 18th Edition regs.
• Good written and spoken English.
• Physically fit and able to work under pressure.
• Calm, patient team player with good decision-making.
• Familiarity with generators, UPS, CRAC units and HV systems.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) on mechanical and electrical plant.
• Respond to reactive tasks and breakdowns to maintain uptime.
• Liaise with Shift Manager to meet timescales and customer expectations.
• Ensure safe working practices, permits and risk assessments are used.
• Maintain shift logs, spares, and parts lists for remedial works.
• Supervise subcontractors and ensure CBRE standards are met.
