Job Description:

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is seeking to recruit a qualified Advanced Practitioner (AP) to join our dedicated team at Galloway Community Hospital. The successful candidate will become part of an established AP service, providing expert care across both rehabilitation and acute medical in-patient wards.

This is a permanent Band 7 position, offering a rewarding opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced professional. The role is full-time, working Monday to Friday over five days, providing a consistent and structured work pattern. Applicants must hold a minimum of a postgraduate diploma in Advanced Practice and be an independent prescriber.

As an Advanced Practitioner, you will deliver high-quality care and treatment within agreed protocols and clinical guidelines, demonstrating advanced clinical knowledge and decision-making skills. You will work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, contributing to both professional and clinical support. In addition, you will be expected to use your expertise to make autonomous decisions outside standard frameworks when necessary, ensuring care is always guided by best practice.

Please note that trainee ANPs who are within the final six months of their training are eligible to apply for this position. Candidates who are awaiting the award of their Postgraduate Diploma in Advanced Practice and are qualified as independent prescribers will be remunerated at Band 6.
