The Safeguarding Team at Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust isseeking to a recruit a enthusiastic and hard working administrative supportofficer.

This is an exciting and unique opportunity to assist the safeguardingteam with their general administrative activities. The post holder must requireexcellent communication skills, work well within a busy team whilst ensuringconfidentiality is maintained at all times. Accuracy and attention to detailare essential requirements alongside the ability to multitask in an everchanging busy environment.

This role is hospital based and would suit someone who is wellorganised, confident in prioritising tasks and their own workload. Competencein using Excel, Word and Outlook are essential, knowledge of hospital systemswould be beneficial but not essential as training can be provided.

The Team deals with sensitive and highly confidential safeguardingissues and communication regarding both Adults and Children the post holderwill also be dealing with urgent telephone calls of the same manner,the postholder will be require to prioritise and escalate as appropriate.

Main duties of the job

The postholder willassist and support the safeguarding team with daily activities including :

Provide a high standardof efficient and effective administrative support to the Safeguarding Team.

Undertake any dutiesassociated with organising meetings and training including booking of venues,co ordinating diaries for availability for meetings.

Taking and producingformal minutes and agendas of meeting and arranging dissemination across theTrust including board level.

Assist in thecollection and collation of information for audit purposes.

Responding to telephoneenquiries and directing them to the appropriate practitioner.

Co ordinating emailsand responding where applicable.

Data collection andinformation sharing for audit and CQC purposes.

Supporting andpreparing information for reports.

Producing accurate andconcise minutes for safeguarding meetings.

Undertake searches onelectronic patient records for data to support the safeguarding team attendanceat monthly MARAC meetings.

Circulate informationwithin the trust in relation to missing children and families.
