Job summary

NEXT plc invites applications for a 12-month technology placement in Pontefract. You will gain hands-on experience across full life-cycle development while shadowing a supportive team of Developers, Product Development Managers, and Analysts. The placement runs from July 2027 to July 2028.

You will work with C#, .NET, Vue.js, HTML and CSS, writing readable code and collaborating to resolve issues. A STEM degree with a placement year is required, with a 2:1 or higher preferred.

Qualifications

• Pursuing STEM degree with a 12-month placement year.
• Strong interest in how software works and a desire to learn.
• Basic understanding of C#, VB.NET, Vue.js, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Able to adapt quickly to new technologies and collaborate with others.

Responsibilities

• Shadow experienced Developers to learn full life-cycle development.
• Help create and enhance applications using backend and frontend tech (C#, .NET, Vue.js, HTML, CSS).
• Write readable, maintainable code meeting user requirements.
• Collaborate to troubleshoot and resolve bugs in the codebase.
• Implement, test, and deploy code changes following the development process.
• Participate in daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and code reviews.
• Adopt AI technologies to streamline work and increase efficiency.
