Job summary

The Copeland team of North Cumbria Primary Care is seeking a registered nurse for a 12-month maternity cover. You will work with GPs to provide routine nursing care, vaccinations, chronic disease management and health promotion across three practices.

Candidates must be NMC registered and have knowledge of chronic disease management; flexibility for full or part-time hours is expected, with a role that supports the wider primary care team.

Qualifications

• NMC registration is required.
• Evidence of CPD and ongoing professional development.
• Knowledge of chronic disease management and patient education.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care under the lead nurse and GPs with care plans.
• Administer vaccinations for children and adults.
• Manage long-term conditions such as hypertension with chronic disease training.
• Run well person clinics and promote healthy lifestyle choices.
• Carry out cervical cytology smears and holistic assessments.
• Provide wound management including Doppler and leg ulcers.
• Carry out venepuncture, ECGs and minor procedures as needed.
• Support contraception, travel health advice and pathology requests.
• Maintain infection control and participate in quality indicators.
