Job summary

Willaston Surgery is recruiting a Practice Nurse for a 12-month maternity cover with a 24-hour week across three days (Tue/Wed/Thu, with three from Mon-Thu). You will support GP-led care, deliver nursing treatments, and perform health screenings within our primary care team.

Key duties include chronic disease management, patient education, and participation in audits and clinical meetings across the Willaston site, part of the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Qualifications

• Evidence of continued professional development (CPD).
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team setting.
• Clinical supervision and mentoring experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Organise and co-ordinate the provision of nursing services for the GP Surgery.
• Provide nursing treatments to patients in participation with GPs or independently to agreed protocols.
• Provide general and specific health screenings to practice patients with referral to GP, ACPs and specialist services.
• Advise patients on general health care and minor ailments with referral to GPs as necessary.
• Undertake chronic disease management.
• Undertake adult health screening including cervical cytology and breast awareness.
• Provide education, mentorship, clinical supervision and annual appraisals for nurse associates and HCAs.
• Undertake clinical audit and present results to the practice clinical team.
• Active and contributory member of practice clinical meetings.
