Job summary

Supply Hive Wales in Cardiff is seeking a Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with Autism (ASD). The role involves helping the child access learning, build confidence and engage positively in class. The ideal candidate will have experience in schools, with ALN/SEND exposure, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

The position is full-time with a start date in October 2026. Pay is £93 per day, and ongoing support from a recruitment consultant is provided to help

Qualifications

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Experience supporting children with ALN/SEND, particularly Autism.
• Patient, nurturing and understanding of individual needs.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Confident supporting a child on a 1:1 basis.
• Reliable, proactive and committed to making a positive difference.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to a Year 2 child with ASD to access learning.
• Support the child’s learning and help build confidence and engagement in the classroom.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and recruitment consultant to ensure continuity.
