Job summary

TeacherActive Limited is recruiting experienced Tutors for 1:1 tuition across Cheshire West. The role supports children and young people outside mainstream education, including those with SEND and SEMH needs, and those who may display challenging behaviours.

You will deliver tailored 1:1 sessions, adapt teaching to individual needs, and work with parents, education consultants and local authorities to re-engage learners with education.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Experience managing and supporting challenging behaviour in educational or care settings.
• Strong safeguarding and child protection understanding.
• Experience teaching or tutoring Primary and/or Secondary-aged students.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to adapt learning to individual needs.
• Patient, empathetic and flexible approach.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, personalised 1:1 tuition sessions in safe, agreed locations (e.g. pupil's home with parent supervision, public spaces like a local library).
• Build rapport with students who may have disengaged from traditional education.
• Work collaboratively with parents/carers, education consultants and local authorities.
• Support reintegration into school settings or transitions to specialist provision.
• Adapt your teaching style to suit a wide range of needs and backgrounds.
