Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a passionate 1:1 Tutor to work with students from KS1 to KS4 across core and wider subjects. You will provide engaging, tailored sessions to build confidence and close knowledge gaps, with a strong SEN understanding.

Role requires QTS or equivalent and up-to-date safeguarding training. DBS and references are part of eligibility. Flexible hours: 1–3 hours per session, part-time or full-time depending on availability.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a passionate and experienced 1:1 Tutor to support students from KS1 through to KS4 across core and wider national curriculum subjects.

Working as a 1:1 Tutor you will provide tailored, engaging sessions that help learners build confidence, fill knowledge gaps, and achieve their full potential. Due to the nature of the role of a 1:1 Tutor, applicants must have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Position details:

• Location - Sefton
• Position - 1:1 Tutor
• Start date - ASAP
• Duration / Likely Duration - dependent on each student
• End date - Ongoing
• Contract type - Temporary
• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability
• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate of 25 per hour
• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• QTS or equivalent
• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)
• UK classroom teaching experience
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK
• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide two professional child-related references.
