Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking an experienced 1:1 Tutor to support KS1–KS4 students in Sefton, with a strong SEN background. The role offers flexible hours, part-time or full-time depending on availability, and an ongoing position with the potential to extend as needed.

You will deliver tailored sessions, help learners build confidence, fill gaps in knowledge and adapt to individual needs, while complying with safeguarding and welfare requirements.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent.
• Up to date safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable but not essential).
• UK classroom teaching experience.
• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box.

Responsibilities

• Deliver tailored 1:1 tutoring sessions across KS1–KS4.
• Help learners build confidence and fill knowledge gaps.
• Adapt sessions to individual needs and SEN requirements.
• Support with lesson planning and classroom management where needed.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a passionate and experienced 1:1 Tutor to support students from KS1 through to KS4 across core and wider national curriculum subjects.

Working as a 1:1 Tutor you will provide tailored, engaging sessions that help learners build confidence, fill knowledge gaps, and achieve their full potential.

Due to the nature of the role of a 1:1 Tutor, applicants must have a background and strong understanding of SEN.

Position details:

• Location - Sefton


• Position - 1:1 Tutor


• Start date - ASAP


• Duration / Likely Duration - dependent on each student


• End date - Ongoing


• Contract type - Temporary


• Full time/part time - Part time and full time depending on availability


• Minimum rate of pay - Minimum rate of £25 per hour


• Hours - Working hours can differentiate, minimum 1 hour per session and a maximum of 3 hours per session

Experience, Training and Qualifications:

• QTS or equivalent


• Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)


• UK classroom teaching experience


• Be creative, patient and willing to think outside of the box

To be eligible for this role, you must:

• Hold the right to work in the UK


• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application


• Provide two professional child-related references.
