Job summary

St Thomas' CofE Primary School in Coalville is seeking an enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil with significant additional needs. The role runs 30 hours per week during term time, with school hours from 8:30am to 3:30pm and a 1-hour lunch break.

Salary is on Grade 5 SCP 8-14 and linked to funding and establishment requirements. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of teaching staff and the SENCO to deliver effective support for teaching and learning

Qualifications

Must hold NVQ Level 2 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
Recent experience in a primary setting.
Experience of working 1:1 with a pupil with significant needs.
Experience supporting pupils with significant additional needs.
Ability to engage and support pupil through a personalised curriculum.
Commitment to maintaining the school's Christian ethos.

Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 teaching assistant support to a Key Stage 2 pupil (Year 4).
Assist with teaching staff and SENCO to implement personalised learning strategies.
Support pupil participation in curriculum activities and routines.
Contribute to maintaining a supportive, inclusive classroom environment.
Support pupil wellbeing and behaviour in line with school policies.
