Job summary

Wheelock Primary School is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant team and support a child on a 1:1 basis, while also assisting small groups in and out of the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.

The role offers 31.25 hours per week during term time (39 weeks per year) with a salary of £18,644 (actual). This temporary position is linked to SEN funding, with an Apprenticeship option for eligible candidates.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, ideally including those with SEND.
• A nurturing, inclusive approach and a genuine desire to help every child thrive.
• Strong organisational skills, flexibility and high expectations for achievement and behaviour.

Responsibilities

• You will primarily support a child on a 1:1 basis, while also working with small groups inside and outside the classroom under the guidance of the class teacher.
