Job summary

Federation of Emscote Infant and All Saints' CE Junior school is seeking a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with an EHCP. The role is term-time only and fixed-term, with a focus on meeting the child’s personal and educational needs.

The successful candidate will support teaching and learning, assist with intimate care, and collaborate with parents, carers and school staff. Flexible working discussions are welcome to meet the child’s needs.

Qualifications

• Experience of supporting children or young people, ideally in education, SEND, care or similar setting.
• Willingness to provide intimate/personal care per individual care plan.
• Ability to support child’s physical needs safely, including mobility and positioning.
• Willingness to undertake training (manual handling, intimate care, etc).
• Understand safeguarding, privacy and professional boundaries.
• Demonstrate patience and a child-centred approach to encourage independence.
• Communicate effectively with child, parents/carers, teachers and professionals.
• Follow written care plans, risk assessments and school policies.
• Pass DBS checks and safer-recruitment procedures.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a child with EHCP to access learning.
• Meet the child’s personal, physical and intimate care needs as required.
• Support the child to access teaching and develop independence.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, school staff and professionals.
• Work within safeguarding guidelines and school policies.
