Job summary

Welshpool Church in Wales Primary School in Welshpool is seeking a highly motivated Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Special) to provide 1:1 support for a pupil with behavioural, communication, emotional and social development needs. The post is a fixed-term contract for 32.5 hours per week, with opportunities for training and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience of working 1:1 with children with behaviour, communication, emotional and social development difficulties.
• Experience working closely with Class Teacher/ALNCO and other professionals.
• Flexible, pro-active and hands-on approach.
• Vision, energy and enthusiasm for this challenge with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
• Experience establishing and maintaining professional relationships.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for a child with specific learning needs and social development goals.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and ALNCO to plan and monitor progress.
• Maintain positive, professional relationships with pupils, families and staff.
• Assist with behaviour management strategies and classroom routines.
