Job summary

Quantum Scholars is seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEND Tutor to support a young learner in Herefordshire. This in-person role focuses on personalised support, building trust, and helping the student engage with learning in a flexible and supportive way.

You will tailor activities, monitor progress, provide feedback, and liaise with parents and professionals while upholding safeguarding procedures and ensuring the pupil's wellbeing and potential is developed.

Qualifications

• Experience with children or young people with SEND in educational or tutoring settings.
• Ability to adapt learning and teaching to individual needs.
• Strong communication and organisation skills.
• Patient, flexible and calm approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one tuition tailored to the student's individual needs.
• Support the student across core academic subjects where appropriate.
• Plan engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Adapt teaching approaches to suit different abilities, learning needs and levels of engagement.
• Help the student develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Provide encouragement and consistent support to help the student re-engage with education.
• Monitor progress and provide appropriate feedback.
• Work collaboratively with parents, carers and relevant professionals where required.
• Maintain clear and professional communication.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
