Job summary

Quantum Scholars in Herefordshire is recruiting a dedicated 1:1 SEND Tutor to support a young learner in person. The role requires patience, flexibility and a personalised approach to learning to boost engagement and progress.

You will deliver one-to-one tuition tailored to the pupil's needs, adapt teaching methods, monitor progress and work closely with parents and professionals while following safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND in educational or tutoring settings.
• Experience providing one-to-one or personalised educational support.
• Ability to adapt learning and teaching approaches to meet individual needs.
• Strong communication, organisation and relationship-building skills.
• Patient, flexible, calm and supportive approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children and young people.
• Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check and provide references.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one tuition tailored to the student's needs.
• Support the student across core subjects where appropriate.
• Plan engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Adapt teaching approaches to suit different abilities, learning needs and engagement levels.
• Help the student develop confidence, independence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Provide encouragement and regular feedback on progress.
• Communicate with parents, carers and professionals as required.
• Follow safeguarding procedures at all times.
• Maintain clear and professional communication.
