Job summary

SEND Recruitment is seeking a qualified SEND Tutor to support a learner on a 1:1 basis, delivering Maths and English in person.

The successful candidate must have QTS and PGCE, plan engaging, learner-centred sessions, monitor progress and keep accurate records. You’ll work with the learner’s family and the SEND team to promote confidence and independence.

This role offers set hours per week, an additional paid planning hour, and flexible arrangements to fit your schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Deliver set hours of face-to-face tuition per week.
• Receive an additional 1 hour of paid planning and administration time each week.
• Plan engaging, learner-centred sessions tailored to the learner’s individual needs and learning style.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records.
• Work collaboratively with the wider professional team and family where appropriate.
• Adapt teaching approaches to meet the learner’s SEND needs while promoting confidence, independence and engagement.
