Job summary

AP Education in Guildford is seeking SEND Tutors to deliver 1:1 support for learners with complex needs in a flexible, term-time schedule. You will provide Maths, English or Science or SEND-specific content, use positive behaviour strategies, and assess progress to inform targeted interventions.

You will liaise with SALT, OT and social workers to coordinate multi-agency support. The role offers flexible hours across Guildford and surrounding regions.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching or tutoring children with SEND/SEMH.
• UK education or youth-work background helpful.
• QTS or HLTA preferred; two years UK experience accepted without qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Maths, English, Science or SEND-specific content.
• Apply positive behaviour strategies and patient support.
• Provide therapeutic, adaptable teaching meeting individual needs.
• Conduct baseline academic and emotional assessments for targeted support.
• Prepare progress reports and liaise with SALT/OT/Social Workers for multi-agency care.
• Manage attendance reporting via attendance software.
• Assist learners transitioning to mainstream or specialist provision.
