Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking an experienced Primary SEND Tutor to provide 1:1 tuition in Maths and English for a primary pupil in Merton, starting September 2026. Pay is £25–£30 per hour.

The successful candidate will have considerable SEND experience, a solid grasp of the primary curriculum, and a patient, nurturing approach, with the ability to adapt lessons to meet individual learning needs. This role involves close collaboration with families, schools and support staff to build confidence,

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with SEND.
• Strong knowledge of the primary curriculum.
• Ability to teach both Maths and English.
• A patient, nurturing and flexible approach.
• Previous tutoring, teaching, or intervention experience.

Responsibilities

• Delivering 1:1 tuition sessions in Maths and English.
• Supporting a primary-aged pupil with SEND.
• Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
• Building confidence, engagement, and progress.
• Working closely with families, schools, and support staff where required.
