Job summary

Step Teachers Ltd is seeking a proactive SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant for daily supply in Watford and surrounding areas. You will provide one-to-one support to pupils with SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and speech and language needs, working with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.

Ideal candidates have experience with SEND, can build trusting relationships, understand EHCPs, and stay calm under pressure. A Level 2/3 qualification is desirable.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in school or care settings.
• Ability to build strong, trusting relationships with individual pupils.
• Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting diverse needs.
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with SEND.
• Work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.
• Support pupils in accessing the curriculum and developing social and emotional skills.
• Promote inclusion and positive behaviour in the classroom.
• Assist with personal care and mobility where required.
• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and assessments.
• Adapt quickly to different school environments and pupil needs.
