Job summary

Step Teachers in Harpenden, Hertfordshire, is seeking a dedicated SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant for full-time daily supply. You will provide one-to-one support for pupils with SEND, working with teachers to implement personalised plans and help pupils access the curriculum.

A calm, patient, and resilient approach is essential, with DBS checks or willingness to obtain one. Salary is paid weekly through PAYE, with access to exclusive deals and wellbeing services via our pay portal.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND in school or care settings.
• Proven ability to build strong, trusting relationships with individual pupils.
• Understanding of EHCPs and strategies for supporting diverse needs.
• Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent (desirable).
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to behaviour and communication.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers and SENCOs to implement personalised learning plans.

• Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews and assessments.

SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistant – Full-time, daily supply from as soon as possibleThese flexible opportunities are ideal for SEND 1:1 Teaching Assistants who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact across different school settings. You’ll be working on a daily supply basis in Harpenden and the surrounding areas, supporting pupils with special educational needs on a one-to-one basis.
